Ben claims medals at New Zealand Open Water Champs

Amazing job from Ben who represented the club at the 2026 New Zealand Open Water Championships/ Epic Swim at Lake Taupō over the weekend.
Just a second behind the winner, Ben claimed the Silver Medal🥈 in the 13-14 Years Men's race of the 2.5 KM NZ Open Water Championships!! His time of 33 minutes and 34 seconds was also the overall 3rd fastest in the race! 🙌
The following day, he took on the 5km Epic Swim where he finished 3rd 🥉in the 14-15 Years age group, and was the 6th fastest home over the entire competition (5th Kiwi) in a time of 1 hour, 6 minutes and 1 second. 🎉
In his first Open Water Nationals, Ben has exceeded expectations with a strong showing. We look forward to seeing what you can do in the future!🏊♂️🎆
